President's Message

Dear GIA Members and Friends,

Q4 is upon us!  The 2026 GIA Fall Summit is coming up November 4–5, and we are preparing to welcome 100+ industry professionals that will benefit from education, networking, industry connections, and a little fun. Looking at the agenda we have put together, I believe this may be one of our strongest Fall Summits to date!

We’ll kick things off on Wednesday, November 4th, with dinner at Chattahoochee Food Works. If you are coming in from outside Atlanta, or simply want some extra time with your GIA colleagues, I encourage you to join us. Some of the best conversations happen outside the formal meeting, and this will be a great way to start the Summit.

Then, on Thursday, November 5th, we are taking over Topgolf Atlanta Midtown for a full day. We start at 9:00 a.m. with How to Sell Video Monitoring, followed by Ben Avicolli presenting “Why 90% of AI Projects Miss Their ROI, and How to Be in the 10%.” AI is moving incredibly quickly, but simply adopting AI doesn't guarantee results. This session will focus on turning that technology into something that actually creates value for your business.

We will then spend some time with our sponsors before Lee Renfroe, back by popular demand, leads a session focused on Fiber. From there, we will hold our Membership Meeting, have lunch, and give everyone another opportunity to connect with the companies that support our association.

Our afternoon program continues with a topic I think is especially important for our industry: SIAC & Law Enforcement, facilitated by Allan Rutledge who will be joined by Chief of Police at City of Kennesaw Bill Westenberger. Creating stronger relationships between our industry and law enforcement while focusing the conversation around alarm management and false alarm reduction benefits all of us.

We will follow that with Know Your Costs & Grow Your Worth, a panel discussion focused on the business side of our industry. Understanding what it truly costs to operate your company and knowing the value of the business you have built are conversations every owner and leader should be having.

Then we are going to have some fun! From 3:00–5:00 p.m., we will move into Topgolf gameplay while continuing to network with our sponsors and fellow attendees. Raffle winners will be announced and finally we will wrap up the Summit with dinner at Howell's Kitchen from 5:00–7:00 p.m. We have intentionally packed a lot into our Fall Summit to ensure you get the most value out of your time spent with us!

GIA continues to grow because we are creating opportunities for our members to learn from experts, discover new resources, strengthen relationships, and become better businesses. The Fall Summit brings all of those things together.  If you are in a leadership role in your business, bring someone from your team. Bring a salesperson who could benefit from the video monitoring session, or the person in your organization who is trying to figure out AI, or your technician who needs to learn more about Fiber. There is something on this agenda for virtually every part of your organization.

November will be here before we know it, so don't wait to register. If you missed the early bird pricing discount, enter GIAEarlyBird or one of the codes from our sponsors to save on your registration. I hope you come for the education, stay for the relationships, and help us make the 2026 Fall Summit one of our biggest yet.

I can't wait to see everyone in Atlanta!

Sincerely,

Brandon Shepard
GIA President
