President's Message

Dear GIA Members and Friends,

I'm very proud of all that we have been accomplishing over the last several years! What was once an association that was losing members each year has become an organization that is setting the standard for what a state trade association can be.

We are approaching an exciting milestone as we near 120 members, and what's even more exciting is that we are just scratching the surface. Our membership continues to grow, our events continue to attract outstanding participation, and our industry is becoming more engaged than ever before. This is only happening because members continue to step up, get involved, and invest in the future of our profession.

That brings me to one of the most important opportunities we have each year, which is our Annual Call for Nominations. If you have ever considered becoming more involved with GIA, now is the time.

We are currently accepting nominations for several Board of Directors positions, including President, Vice President, District Directors, and Associate Director. These leadership roles provide a unique opportunity to help shape the direction of our association while giving back to an industry that has provided so much to all of us.

Serving on the Board isn't just about attending meetings. It's about helping create new opportunities for our members, strengthening workforce development, expanding educational programs, advocating for our industry, and continuing to build an association that delivers real value to security, fire, and low-voltage professionals across Georgia.

We have ambitious goals for GIA, and achieving them will require passionate, forward-thinking leaders who are willing to help move this association to the next level. If you have been waiting for the right time to get involved, I encourage you to submit your nomination before the July 10 deadline. Whether you are a company owner, manager, technician, sales professional, or industry partner, your experience and perspective can make a meaningful difference. Please note you must be with a GIA Member Company in good standing to qualify.

While you are planning ahead, don't forget to register for what is always one of the most enjoyable events of the year, our Q3 Membership Meeting and Braves Game on August 11th.

We will kick things off with an important membership meeting where we will announce the results of our Board elections, provide association updates, hear from our sponsors, and discuss what's ahead for GIA. Then we'll head over to Truist Park to enjoy an evening of baseball, networking, and great fellowship with industry friends and colleagues.

If you have attended this event before, you know how quickly it fills up. If you haven't, this is the perfect opportunity to experience firsthand what makes GIA such a special organization. It's a relaxed environment where relationships are strengthened, new connections are made, and business often happens between innings.

Thank you for your continued support of GIA! I look forward to seeing many of you on August 11th, and I hope you'll consider taking the next step by serving in a leadership role as we continue building the future of GIA together.

Sincerely,

Brandon Shepard
GIA President
